20th April 2014
Windsurfing: The Dip-Felixstowe
Wind Direction: ne
Wind Stength: 16/22
Surf / Sea State: flatish
Air Temperature: 11
Sea Temperature: 9
Weather: couldy and cold :(
Max Speed: 25.63 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 9 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

I was hoping for more wind than yesterday even if the forecast said no rain and it might rain :( I was down at the Dip just after nine and things looked promising. With 20 mph + on the gauge I went for 7m on the Xantos with a small fin and headed for the flat water in the River Deben. It was a bit of a struggle getting there as I was way under powered :( There was some flat water but no wind !!!! even the kiters were not going that well. I did bump into Peter & Sally Ling - Peter was out on his kite, I was talking to Sally when we spotted a Gurnard washed up on the beach - I then picked it up and put it back in the sea - the highlight of the day :) I then had a job to get off kite beach with a strong tide running and no wind in close. By this time a few windsurfers were out so I sailed back to the dip to join them. I was going to rig 7.8 but the wind had filled in a bit so I just put a bigger fin and tried again and got my fasted run, it was good sailing broad but then you had to struggle upwind again, my hands then got very cold so I decided to call it a day just as friend Mark Smalling broke his uj and had to swim - great sport this - rool on the summer !!!
